ISO Cylinders

FAQ2R and FAE Series

Built for ISO Dimensional Compliance and Reliability

ISO cylinders give you the freedom to use internationally compatible mountings and accessories. Our FAQ2R and FAE Series single- and double-rod cylinders are designed to comply with ISO 6431 and 6432 interchange requirements, respectively, to help make installation easier.

We updated our ISO 6431 air cylinder with a new extruded body to better house flush-mounted sensors while also giving it a clean shape. The FAQ2R Series is built tough with a hard-anodized aluminum cylinder inner and outer diameter plus painted end caps. Each unit comes with an aluminum alloy magnetic piston, adjustable air cushions at both ends and a machined male rod thread with jam nut. Optional Reed and electronic sensors mount securely to an extrusion slot anywhere along the length of the cylinder. The cylinders come in bore diameters from 32 to 125 millimeters, and standard strokes range from 25 to 1,000 millimeters for all bore sizes.

FAE Series single and double rod cylinders are built to ISO 6432 dimensions. The family is available with bore diameters of 12 to 40 millimeters, and maximum strokes are as high as 1,000 millimeters for single rod and 500 millimeters for double rod units. Designed for long life, cylinders with bore diameters up to 25 millimeters are made from corrosion-resistant stainless steel, and larger-bore units offer anodized aluminum construction. Each cylinder comes standard with an aluminum alloy magnetic piston, mounting nut and machined male rod threat with jam nut.

Technical Advantages
  • An aluminum alloy magnetic piston and machined male rod thread with jam nut are standard features.
  • The standard annular piston magnet is permanently bonded into the grooved piston for reliability. The polarized permanent magnet, made of rubber bonded barium ferrite, is very stable and unaffected by shock. Under normal use it will remain magnetized indefinitely.
  • The FAQ2R Series has a new extruded body, made of hard-anodized aluminum alloy, designed for flush mounted sensors. The sensor, when combined with an adapter, clamps rigidly to an extruded mounting slot so it can clamp anywhere along the length of the cylinder, ensuring precise position sensing.
  • Magnetically operated reed switches and electronic sensors can be mounted anywhere along the length and circumference of the FAE Series cylinder.
