Job description:
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative and corrective maintenance standards
- Troubleshoots problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring tools
- Keeps production team and management aware of required routine maintenance
- Performs minor maintenance and repair functions: Mechanical; Electrical; Plumbing; Pneumatic, and General construction
- Assists with installation of new equipment
- Rigging and hoisting of equipment
- Operation of equipment i.e., forklift, scissor lift, and power tools
- Performs miscellaneous tasks, i.e., assembly and moving objects
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as necessary
- Proper use of material handling equipment
- Fabricates mechanical parts when needed
- Report completed tasks via a work order system.
- Ensures proper care of company provided tools
- Completes all tasks assigned to them by management
- Overtime may be required for short term or long-term duration as business needs mandate
- Compliance with safety and quality standards in the workplace
Competencies and qualifications:
- Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on maintenance tasks
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other systems
- Demonstrated experience as a maintenance technician
- Troubleshooting of CNC machines
- Completion of an industrial maintenance apprenticeship program is a plus
- Thorough working knowledge of industrial equipment, its usage, and safety procedures
- Must be safety oriented, self-motivated, responsible, and problem solver
- Welding qualifications a plus
- Knowledge of OEM controllers e.g., Fanuc, Brother, Mitsubishi
