Multi-Piston High Force Actuators

Air Presses, Multi-Power®

Air Presses, Multi-Power®

Tremendous Output Force and Precision for Your Workspace or Lab

These air presses combine the Multi-Power force-multiplying principle with a precision framework to deliver extraordinary thrust forces, power factor and accuracy for both production and laboratory uses. Each unit comes with a Multi-Power cylinder that uses multiple pistons attached to a single shaft. This creates a larger collective surface area for air pressure to act on as the pistons are energized simultaneously via special internal air passages, multiplying the extend thrust. The cylinder and framework result in bench presses that can achieve power factors from 19.6 to 93 times line pressure and deliver tool-saving, low-impact forces from 2,900 pounds to over 5 tons.

The power cylinder has all the standard Multi-Power features such as a hard-anodized aluminum body, hard chrome-plated stainless steel piston rods to ensure reliable operation, a long-length high performance composite rod bearing for accuracy and reliability, and pre-lubrication with Magnalube-G® grease for long life. The sturdy framework includes high-strength aluminum frame plates with precision-located keyways and plated steel keys for accurate alignment and rigidity.

Multi-Power presses are lightweight, portable and save space, so they can be used anywhere tremendous strength and precision are essential.

  • Multiple pistons attached to a common rod with internal air passengers produce tremendous forces.
  • Precision framework with power factors from 19.6 to 93 times line pressure delivers low-impact forces and saves tooling.
  • ⅜ NPT ports are standard, and generous internal passages for air flow allow high cycling speeds.
  • Multi-Power air presses operate cleanly with no hydraulics to contaminate clean rooms or laboratories.
  • The cylinder is made of corrosion-resistant hard-anodized aluminum.
  • The extended-length rod bearing ensures accuracy, and its high performance composite non-metallic material resists tough conditions for reliability and long life.
  • High-performance composite resists corrosion, moisture and temperatures up to 325° F, while offering a high load capacity and very little friction.
  • Magnalube-G® Teflon-impregnated grease provides a long operating life and lubricates across a wide temperature range.
  • Hard chrome-plated stainless steel piston rods ensure long cylinder life.
  • Force adjustment can be performed with ease and accuracy.
  • The cylinder uses only one stage to return, saving air volume.
  • High-strength aluminum frame plates are machined on the edges and have precision-located keyways.
  • Plated steel keys mate the cylinder head and base plate to the frame plates for accurate alignment.
  • Keyed and bolted, high-strength construction ensures better precision and longer life versus other “C” frame or post-type presses.
  • The small footprint requires less machine space as well as less mounting space.
